A crucial component of the mediation process is mediation coaching. If you and your spouse have already hired a mediator to work with you on your divorce, you will also need a mediation coach. A mediator cannot give advice. A mediation coach can give you advice which will help you negotiate for yourself during mediation. When your mediator finalizes your Separation Agreement, the mediation coach can review it with you and offer changes to the mediator in light of your overall goals. This must be done diplomatically so that the Agreement is not destroyed.
